This week we will be using Voki Avatars to summarize the unit on biochemistry. For those who are unfamiliar with Voki avatars, just look to your right and you'll see a Voki that I created especially for this blog. Click the play button to hear the Voki speak a special message.
Yesterday students were assigned a vocabulary term to summarize or essential question to answer. Today students began creating their Voki avatars. We will watch all the avatars next week in preparation for our unit test. Please get the username and password from Ms. Sanders for your class period.

Monday 2/7 - Friday 2/11/11
This week students worked on a simulation of polymerization as we continued our study of the four major biological macromolecules: carbohydrates, lipids, nucleic acids and proteins. See Ms. Sanders for puzzle pieces and instructions. Students also watched an informative video clip about carbon compounds and completed ch. 2-3 worksheet. See Ms. Sanders for the worksheet, if necessary.

This week students completed the water lab by conducting pH tests on various liquids. While Ms. Sanders was away at the FETC conference, students reviewed basic biochemistry with various worksheets and puzzles. Please see Ms. Sanders for any work you missed due to absence.

Today students did a full day of picture inquiry. Day two water lab questions were checked for some classes, but other classes will need to have them checked tomorrow. There's nothing to make up for today.
